About Affini-T Therapeutics
Affini-T Therapeutics is an emerging biotechnology company focused on targeting oncogenic driver mutations with a “best-in-class” TCR therapy platform. Our innovative method of discovering high affinity TCRs specific to oncogenic driver mutations is used to develop therapies against malignant diseases. Through the application of gene editing and synthetic biology, we aim to enhance T-cell fitness to overcome the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment, with the ultimate goal of inducing long-term responses in patients with solid tumors.
 
Position Summary
This position will report to the Associate Director, Lab Operations at our Watertown headquarters and work closely with the Facilities team. This team member will be responsible for supporting activities within facilities including asset management, lab monitoring systems, vendor escort, shipping (domestic and international), lab waste management, lab gas management, 5s initiatives, and other activities as necessary. The individual will be expected to perform a range of technical tasks leading to modernizing the Affini-T lab infrastructure.

This role will function in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment where attention to detail is key. The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
The major tasks for this position are as follows:
  • Asset management, including oversight and performance of preventable maintenance of common equipment.
  • Lab monitoring systems, including waste management, gas management, etc.
  • Act as a conduit for information as it relates to inventory management and shipping and receiving.
  • Support in the build the 5s programs. 
  • Autoclave of media and plastics, as well as being responsible for the cleanliness of glassware and PPE.
  • Chemical inventory management which will include maintaining adequate flammable counts per our permitting.
  • Lead shipping and receiving activities for Affini-T headquarters.
  • Being the point of contact for lab vendors that need to be escorted inside facilities.

 
Desired and Required Qualifications
 
Education and Experience:  
  • Required High School Diploma, preferred BA/BS degree in biotechnology, or related field of study.
  • Preferred experience creating and managing Work Instructions.
  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience in the biotech industry.
  • Experience in BSL-2 level lab.
  • Prior experience coordinating biological and chemical lab waste.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Previous experience with Asset management.
  • Previous experience in a startup environment preferred.
  • Facilities maintenance experience is a plus.
  • IATA and DOT certified.
